GENERATOR are pleased to invite you to ‘Here Bianca’, a solo exhibition by Belfast born artist Lauren Gault.
‘Here Bianca’ is an ambitious new installation featuring made and found objects, elemental materials and process based works, all of which are selected for their specific histories and component properties.
Gault is interested in how an object may be inhabited by a process or presence inflicted upon it; how acts reside and echo in the stillness of objects and are carried as re-enactments of a real or ‘experienced’ moment. The new works reference divining, archaeology, and theories around the ‘vessel’ as object.
The exhibition will also feature an offsite closing event with artists Lauren Gault, Perri MacKenzie and Kathryn Elkin presenting texts and performances. Further information regarding this event will follow shortly.
Lauren Gault’s recent exhibitions include You Blink at the plughole, MEXICO, Leeds 2013, Granular and Crumb, (solo) Edinburgh Modern Film School, ESW, 2013, Sweet ensilage, (solo) Tramway, Glasgow, 2013, When two or more are together, Spike Island (in collaboration with Spike Associates), Bristol 2013, My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming Planets, Glasgow Project Room, 2013, WETODRY, Sierra Metro, Edinburgh, 2011, Who would you rather?, Intermedia, CCA Glasgow, 2011, BOLD TENDENCIES IV, Hannah Barry Gallery, London, 2010 and Lacks, the duchy, Glasgow 2010.
