📣OPEN CALL: Operational Committee Positions - Treasurer, Social Media/ Marketing, Secretary📣

With are funding from Creative Scotland confirmed, we are excited to recruit some new committee in advance of some of our current committee leaving later this year. We’re particularly keen for someone to fill the positions of Treasurer, Social Media/ Marketing & Secretary on our Operational Committee! If these positions are of interest to you, read on to find out more!

The committee is a non-hierarchical, or flat structure, and everyone takes their turns doing everything from cleaning the toilets to programming and delivering projects. These roles are not things that an individual would be expected to work on solely as we all support each other but you’d be responsible for managing Generator over all. The Committeeship has a two year tenure, with a 8 hour weekly commitment roughly,  in which you will be part of every decision made at Generator. We host in person weekly meetings that are essential to attend so you’d ideally be based somewhere you can easily take part (Dundee, Angus, Perth & Tayside girlies do apply)

With our Multi-Year Funding coming in from April 2025 and taking us through until 2028 we will be introducing pay for committee members from April 2026. As incoming committee members you will decide how and what you’ll be paid in the future. Until then a position on the committee comes with studio access and our largest Incubator fund which will pay for any costs relating to professional development.

In addition to this you will find a supportive group of peers, some of the best arts experience to develop skills in all areas of running a gallery and project space, as well as the chance to make your dream projects happen. Generator’s approach is radical, fluid and responsive to the communities we exist within, so If you wanna help make more art happen in Dundee then please apply!

  • Treasurer: makes sure that the bills & artists get paid. Manages the budget and expenditure with help from the rest of the committee & talks to the accountant.

  • Social Media/ marketing: Coordinating with project leads to write copy, designing images to promote our programme of exhibition and events as well as responding to our DM’s

  • Secretary: Helps us to keep on top of our admin, responding to emails and taking the minutes in meetings & making sure our google drive is organised & easy to navigate.

To apply please send of expression of Interest no more than 200 words about why you’re interested and any questions you might have, along with your CV to mail@generatorprojects.co.uk.

Experience required: none, just love for making art happen

If you’re interested in applying to a specific role then pop that in your email too, but if you are keen to join the committee but don’t see a role you feel well suited for then just tell us why you want to be part of the committee, the roles are fluid and exchangeable. Students are currently not able to join our operational committee, but if interested in Generator, can enquire about joining as part of our associate committee.

Please get in touch by midnight of the 28th of February.
