The Agency is a paradigm of the cultural economy, an articulation of the values of an artist-run space through the commodification of one within another.
Searching for a sense of value, Dundee-based Generator Projects will be packaged and sold to a consuming public, led by Head of Sales and invited artist Catrin Jeans. From shop fit to live office environment, Agency will function as a platform from which the role of the artist-run space will be dissected within the context of the Liverpool Biennial. Bureaucracy will be established and training days held for the current Generator Projects Committee as Jeans plays with the power structures within the organisation and explores the role of the individual Committee Member as a "Service Provider" - against the backdrop of the voluntary nature of the position. The culmination of the two week project will be an event hosted by Jeans and organised by Generator Projects that juxtaposes and punctuates the precursory disambiguation of place.
