ARCHIVE25
LEO SEASON IS HERE and this August at GENERATORprojects we're celebrating turning the ripe and fabulous age of 25!
How do we prepare for such a milestone? We have been thinking of the evolution over the past quarter-century. What has GENERATOR been? What are we now? What will we be over the next 25 years? We've been a few things, from steam rooms to skateparks over the decades.
This exhibition is us celebrating YOU, the members, the committee, the artists, the students, the visitors, the Dundee city dwellers, everyone who has supported us in every imaginable way past and present and carried GENERATORprojects all the way to 2021
Over the next month, we will be hosting an OPEN CALL to submit memories, stories, photos, and objects to be deposited into our ever-evolving archive.
To submit to this open call, please visit the gallery in person with your piece of the GENERATOR archive, or you can submit digitally via filling this cataloguing slip out and sending us an email with your submission.
We can't wait to see and hear all of your memories from the past 25 years!!
Archive 25 opens on Friday the 30th of July, with an opening event from 4-6pm.
Show runs until the 28th of August, with a programme of events over the month (to be announced soon!).
Opening hours are Thursday to Sunday, 12-5!!!!! <3
LIVE ARCHIVE STREAM >>>
Over the course of this month artist and vintage computer wiz Jock Lohoar will be working away in the gallery transferring and archiving lost treasures of the GEN archive - films and other media saved to CDs, floppy disks, stone tablets, etc. Tune in to the stream to see these snippets of performances, documentation, artists moving image, and who knows what else, from the past 25 years.
