GENERATORprojects proudly present our symposium exploring the usefulness of artist-led archiving: 'Raiders of the Lost Arc-hive'.

Following our recent archival residency GENERATOR has created a panel of invited speakers to form a conversation around archival practice:

When evaluating the material produced by contemporary artists and organisations, is there more than just historic value presented in the information? Can archival practice activate this aspect of the material and by this measure should restoring a linear history be the most important aspect of artist-led archiving?

This symposium will create a platform in which each of the panellists will have the opportunity to discuss individual projects that they have worked on as well as their relationships to archives and a conversation surrounding the role of archiving in contemporary art will be generated with particular focus on the potential they present artist-led organisations.

Free event as always - though space is limited so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Refreshments provided.
